Joining forces for a positive economy ?

Extracting, transforming and rejecting...
in moderation

The disastrous effects of human activity on the environment and on life are becoming increasingly difficult to bear in every part of the planet.

Today's economy operates on the basis of a linear «extract-transform-reject» model.

Every year, millions of individuals and firms consume resources without replacing them and discard waste, including greenhouse gases, in quantities far in excess of what nature is able to absorb.

Humanity draws from an "ecological capital" which corresponds to the environment's capacity to provide humanity with the goods and services that it requires.

This economy which is drawing on reserves is therefore operating in negative mode !...

Yet the earth does not possess a golden parachute...

Green products are not manufactured by grey firms

Small, medium-sized or large firms may combine the aims of the capitalist system in terms of performance and profitability with the twofold objective of Sustainable Development, namely :

  • 1 - To make economic profitability a means of human development rather than an end in itself
  • 2 - To repair the imbalances generated by our way to consume.

Whether we are purchasers, salespeople, technicians or managers, more and more of us are keen to be proud of the commitments of our company and our personal contribution in the context of our professional activity.

The commitment of a socially responsible company is essentially what makes it different and is the reason why increasing numbers of purchasers and consumers will choose these companies above others.

  • Companies which fulfil the expectations of their time always win the support of consumers and purchasers.
  • Companies which follow the principles of the positive economy (combining performance with utility) reduce their costs and enhance their attractiveness.
  • Companies, local communities and states no longer have any choice as there is no « Plan B » for the planet
  • Participating in a strategic procedure focusing on sustainable development means :
    • > Extending good practice from the local to the global level,
    • > Removing or limiting the following risks :
      • >> Financial : increasing the cost of carbon energies presents a medium-term risk
      • >> Loss of turnover and reputation : resisting this trend means going against customers' requirements (sensitivity of consumers to ethical and environmentally-friendly products, customer pressure to ascertain the origin of products and their production methods)
      • >> Statutory : French and European legislation is becoming increasingly demanding
